Overview: The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. Access is mostly limited to professionals in the film industry (directors, actors, members of the press, etc.) but there ARE a small number of tickets available.
When: In 2008, the festival will be held from May 14 – May 25th. Check the official site for more details.
Where: at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France
Nice Airport (code: NCE) is the closest airport to Cannes, France.
If you are arriving from somewhere else in France, it is possible to take the TGV/SNCF trains to get there. Cannes is located on the Marseille-Nice line. Check the Cannes Train Schedule here
While there are many hotels in Cannes, most, if not all, of them will be booked, so it may be hard to find a place to stay. Another option is to stay in nearby Nice (45 minutes away) and take a bus or shuttle in.
